Digital Diary: 7 Artists. 7 Days. 7 Videos. Photo 59 of 90.
An example of a crowded street in Venice. At points I felt like I was in Asia when too many people ended up in the same (small) space at a time.
Although the digital diary was filmed all in Friuli Venezia Giulia, after the filming I had a couple spare days to spend in Venice. So my photo diary extended a bit. It was my first time visiting the ancient city and my impression of the place was truly fantastic. I’ve been traveling for many years now, but this place was simply stunning. From the canals to the architecture, it is truly a unique place in the world.
Second in the Digital Diary of Italy series, a set of seven young video makers from all over the world joined us in Friuli Venezia Giulia to do some serious storytelling.
I was one of those seven.
Over the seven day assignment in Italy, we were force fed prosciutto and drowned in wine daily as we went from the Italian Alps to the Mediterranean Shores. We went kite surfing, horse back riding, caving and cruised through vineyards on vespas (or in my case, a sidecar). I would wake up on a small island and go to bed in an ancient castle. This photo series documents my digital diary of Friuli Venezia-Giulia. The photos accompany this video.
The area is truly beautiful with an amazing population. Please help share the place with your networks by sharing this video.
Mille Grazie!

382 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 351, taken August 28, 2010, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Kathmandu has to be one of the greatest places on earth to get lost. The old city is an architectural and cultural labyrinth. Surrounded by steep hills, the narrow streets of the city are crammed full of people, temples, sounds, smells, sellers, buyers, trash and your occasional cow or monkey. The place is buzzing with life.
For the nomadically curious, this makes Kathmandu a gold mine.

382 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 347, taken March 8, 2012, Sana’a, Yemen.
Following up yesterday’s nightscape of Sana’a, this is what an alley might look like during the day. The ancient city is a maze of old buildings and markets. In this example, women shop for shoes in the old city.

In the Dubai Mall shoppers can take a break … and go skating! Yes, skating in the desert. The world’s largest mall has a number of strange attractions you wouldn’t expect to see in the Middle East.

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 271, taken April 9, 2010, Shanghai, China.
This image taken for the Shanghai World Expo is one of the only shots I have taken in China, that looks like the stereotypical neon view of Asia. You see views like this in Japan, South Korea and in Hong Kong — however, in mainland China this is actually quite rare.
