382 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 342, taken June 27, 2007, South Lake Tahoe, California.
A wide palate of colors reflects through the burning forest only hundreds of feet off of Highway 89. This photo taken during the devastating Angora Fire at Lake Tahoe.
382 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS is a series of photographs from the archives of jonahkessel.com. Photographs span over eight years and include locations from all around the world. They fall in no particular order, but their own.

382 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 295, taken January 10, 2012, Sichuan, China.
Trees over hang a colorful reflection in Sichuan’s Jiuzhaigou National Park.
I visited the inconveniently located park in the winter and was rewarded with countless frozen waterfalls and beautiful still lakes. While this place is hard to get to, its certainly worth the effort. Winter visitors will be rewarded with smaller crowds and lower prices.

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 246, taken July 27, 2011, The Tenderloin, San Francisco, California.
A man is backdropped by a colorful wall, completely tagged with Grafitti in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.
While I can’t say this is my favorite neighborhood in the city, is the location of the San Francisco China Consuluate … which for China people, might be useful.
This photo from a series called “An Expat Visits His Own Country.” See that series and photographs here.

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 157, taken February 24, 2011, Varanasi, India.
The sun sets over the great Ganes river in Varanasi, India. There are reportedly 32 sewage drainage systems which empty into the Ganges. Combine the human excrement with this societies practices on waste disposal and you have one interesting body of water.
The Ganges (English pronunciation: /ˈɡændʒiːz/ gan-jeez;) or Ganga, (Sanskrit: गङ्गा Hindi: गंगा Urdu: گنگا Ganga IPA: [ˈɡəŋɡaː] ( listen); Bengali: গঙ্গা Gônga), is a trans-boundary river of India and Bangladesh. The 2,525 km (1,569 mi) river rises in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of North India into Bangladesh, where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. By discharge it ranks among the world’s top 20 rivers.[4] The Ganges basin is the most heavily populated river basin in the world, with over 400 million people and a population density of about 1,000 inhabitants per square mile (390 /km2).

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 153, taken October 19, 2008, Sierra Nevada, California.
The Eastern Sierra — one of the most gorgeous places on earth. In this part of the world, you can throw a rock and most likely hit nice light on an amazing landscape.
This photo was taken as part of an article written by author Jeremy Evans for the Tahoe Daily Tribune. In the original article here, I published two slideshows two show the variation in color and landscape of the area.

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 132, taken April 15, 2009, Yosemite National Park, California.
One of my favorite places in the world — Yosemite National Park. This park is just jammed pack full of landscape photography opportunities. While living at Lake Tahoe I was fairly close to the historic park for three years. I often found while the landscape of the park is stunning, weather patterns often made for really interesting photography — even when the landscapes weren’t as dramatic as the iconic shots that are a dime a dozen out of Yosemite.

375 DAYS - 365 PHOTOS - Photo 115, taken July 11, 2009, Big Sur, California.
One of my favorite places in the world — California’s Big Sur State Park is truly an amazing place. The ocean and the forests collide along the amazing Highway 1, just south of San Francisco. The highway is one of the world’s great drives and views like this are not rare.
Big Sur is a sparsely populated region of the central California coast where the Santa Lucia Mountains rise abruptly from the Pacific Ocean. The name “Big Sur” is derived from the original Spanish-language “el sur grande”, meaning “the big south”, or from “el país grande del sur”, “the big country of the south”. The terrain offers stunning views, making Big Sur a popular tourist destination. Big Sur’s Cone Peak is the highest coastal mountain in the contiguous 48 states, ascending nearly a mile (5,155 feet/1571 m) above sea level, only three miles (4.8 km) from the ocean.
